Establishment and Development
Shanker Sahai Har Sahai Girls Inter College was originally founded as a girls' high school in 1970 and was later recognized as an unaided intermediate college in 1999. The school expanded its curriculum to include additional subjects such as Urdu, Home Science, Economics, and Geography.
Founder's Legacy
The college was established by Sahu Har Sahai Gupta, a prominent agriculturalist and zamindar from the Moradabad district. A noted philanthropist and educationalist, Sahu Har Sahai Gupta graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Agra College in 1920. He became the chairman of the Moradabad District Education Committee in 1928 and established numerous junior high schools across the district.
He was also an influential politician, serving as a member of the U.P. Legislative Council in 1937, 1942, and 1947, and was the first Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bilari in 1952. He remained a member of Agra University for 25 years. His contributions to education are commemorated by the "Shanker Sahai Har Sahai Inter College" gold medal, awarded annually to the student with the highest marks in M.Com. at Lucknow University.
Continued Leadership
After the college's foundation, Sahu Prem Sahai, son of Sahu Har Sahai Gupta, successfully managed the institution until 1990. Sahu Prem Sahai was also the first chairman of the Bilari Municipal Board and served as an honorary magistrate from 1950 to 1967.
His elder son, Padma Shri Sahu Sushil Sahai, currently serves as the President of the college. Meanwhile, Smt. Bina Sahai, wife of Sahu Sunil Sahai, an ex-chairman of the Bilari Municipal Board, is the manager of the college. She continues to oversee the institution with dedication and commitment.
